#SosDairy

We went to London with 2500 dairy farmers on the #SosDairy.
The large processing dairies had cut the price they were paying farmers for their milk & then the bottom dropped out of the cream market so the processors cut the price again to the farmers meaning UK dairy farmers were loosing money on every litre of milk they produced.
Feed company’s, vets practices etc funded busses to get farmers down to London to let the government know the real situation on the farms.
The government offered a dairy grant which we applied for with help from Paul Rhodes we were successful.

Our Story…..

In 1947 my granddad Hector Andrew started our dairy farm with 10 cows,
In those days a pint of milk, loaf of bread & pint of beer had the same value, over the years supermarkets have always used milk as a loss leader to get folk in their stores weekly, now milk is often sold for less than bottled water.

We have always got our milk from our cows to our customers the same day it’s what we now call #SuperFreshMilk in a bid to remind folk that supermarket milk just Is not that fresh.

Our family farm is now on its 4th generation with the oldest my Grandad in his 80’s & the youngest Grace at almost 2 years old.
